General Discussion / Re: The Chevrolet Limousine
« on: April 14, 2023, 07:43:41 PM »
From DeLorean's book, "On a Clear Day You Can See General Motors", he called up the people at the Tech Center and told them to find the car and if still around cut it into scrap.  This was after a column in the Detroit paper saying that DeLorean was building a private Chevrolet limousine that cost $60,000.  The directors at GM were non too pleased.  DeLorean said the phony item was slipped to a columnist by GM.  At this time he was wearing out his welcome at GM.

General Discussion / Re: 1968 Radiator Tag
« on: January 17, 2023, 08:24:22 PM »
Thanks for input.  There was a thread, which I can not find, which said that Heartbeat was informed of the error but said they confirmed that the IM was correct.  I'll keep my eye out for a used one.

General Discussion / 1968 Radiator Tag
« on: January 10, 2023, 08:48:46 PM »
In reviewing the CRG report on radiators, it shows the 1968 Z28 as having a broadcast code of UH and a tank codes as IH and OD.  All the repo tags seem to have a IM tank code rather than IH tank code.  Does anyone know where the correct ID tag can be purchased?

Thanks a lot Kurt.  A number are still relevant today such as 68-T-12  instrument Cluster Ground Circuit in solving intermittent instrument cluster lights.

I'm with Steve on the accelerator pump.  On the "first take off" the choke is on sop lots of extra fuel.

I hope you are wrong Scott but maybe not.  A few years ago, I entered my restored  '71 Opel GT in the Import Class at a local car show only to lose out for 2nd place to a brand new Kia Optima.  At least 1st place went to a 1968 Triumph TR6.

I'm with Scott,  Metering Valve, "Its function is to hold off any fluid flow to the front disc calipers until the valve sees 30-40 psi of pressure; this ensures that the rear drum shoes have expanded into contact with the rear drums before the front disc calipers begin clamping on the rotors, balancing initial brake application to avoid the disconcerting front end "dive" associated with "front brakes first" under light brake application".

That is really cool.  I enjoy reading the stories about the "sixes".  Keep the pictures rolling.
