So the bracket is different, but the coil should be the same physical size as a flat hood car? This is what I think, just want to be sure.

Thanks.

Anyone have a source for a coil for the cowl hood application? I hope this is the #270? I have one on order from Ecklers, but maybe another week or more before it ships, since they are currently out of stock.

What is the difference in the cowl hood/non-cowl hood coils?

Thanks.

General Discussion / Re: 1969 Muncie reverse lockout lower linkage

Thanks Joe. I looked that up in the AIM that I downloaded from this site, and got the parts ordered.

Who makes the best reprint for the AIM, or are there good originals out there? I have looked on eBay, but am not sure who to believe has the best reprint, that is also legible. It would be nice to have a real copy instead of only the digital one.

Thanks.

General Discussion / 1969 Muncie reverse lockout lower linkage

Trying to solve little problems here and there and have run into another one-

My backup lights don’t work, and I figured out that this piece of linkage is missing. Car has exhaust manifolds. It looks like all of the other linkage and hardware is in place but this particular piece. I have found repos online, but they don’t seem to come with hardware to attach to the reverse transmission shifter lever, or the bellcrank. Is it just a couple of retaining clips I need, or something more?

Any ideas to where I can find these pieces?

Thanks.

I searched and didn’t find a very recent thread on this-Any recommendations on a nice trickle charger?

Thanks.

Restoration / Re: Tail light sealant

Well, after doing some research that I should have done first- this should be a gasket, not some kind of putty sealant. I apologize for the dumb question.

I promise to only have about 642 more dumb questions in the future!

Thanks.

Restoration / Tail light sealant
« on: February 12, 2020, 02:04:58 AM »
I had a piece of the stainless trim coming loose from one of my tail lights on a 1969 Camaro. Figured I would take the lens out of the housing to clean things up a bit while I had the whole assembly off of the car, and I noticed a light tan colored sealant that is between the housing and lens.

Anyone have an idea of what this is, so I can get the proper replacement when it all goes back together? Looks and feels like plumbers putty, but surely it isn’t that simple, or is it?

Thanks.

Mine has a 4.10 rear, so do you think the hotter plug would be the best choice?

Thanks for the replies and suggestions. This car is basically restored/refurbished already, but I may eventually have it in a small local show just for the experience of it. So, I will probably go for the original style wires from either American Autowire or Lectric Limited. I think the standard plugs without the green rings will work fine.

Thanks again.

What are the opinions on plugs to use for a 1969 302? Also, American Autowire factory fit plug wires were recommended for me to buy, but I can’t seem to find them on their website. Any other ideas on where to find these plug wires?

Thanks.

I spent the last 10 days or so going through the entire thread, as I had not seen it. Incredible details and commentary Chick.

Thank you for spending so much time and effort documenting the build.

Awesome car!
