William, thanks for your reply and info  concerning the Car Life magazine photo of the '69 Z on a desert run. I have that magazine,

Charles, thanks for your reply ! I tried to go back and credit you with the photo, can't seem to do it ? I found it long ago, and came

across it in my disorganized file on my lap top.

What a cool photo, I'm sure it is a treasured memory for you and your navy buddy ! where was that taken in California , I see some

aircraft in the back ground ? Is there a link with you to the "Dyno Tune" Camaro in the photo as well ?

Hard to tell, is it a stripe delete car ?

Thanks GMAD_Van Nuys, followed your link and the one to the discussion from this forum on special paint, quote from there " In

1968-69, either deletion of a stripe or use of a non-standard stripe color was also considered to be special paint"

understanding more now.

Kurt, thanks for your reply, when I referred to frost green 59 code, medium green 721 code interior, that was how I remember the

car, no spoilers, no stripes,  that info was not off the plate with codes, the car was originally out of Illinois, most likely long gone

 now.

your quote  " If the car was stripe delete (or other special paint), then it would  be ---."

Am I missing something here ? I don't have any where near the knowledge of the members here, I am always learning.

Just for reference this non Z car is the correct exterior colour , not correct interior colour, I think the image was off this forum ?

Oldtimer, thanks for your reply and links re: The Stevens Camaro.

VINCEZ28, I did not know personally Bob Stevens, but knew about him, I believe he had a link with Robert Barg (also Canadian)

who raced the X Mo Carter '67 Camaro and the '69 Camaro, also X Carter. He was successful with the "Hugger Camaro"  '67

winning the Canadian Touring Car Championship in '68. I wonder if that car is still around ? Jon ? ?

Is Robert Barg still with us ?  he hasn't posted for some time, and an e-mail went unanswered.

Here's a link to some of  Steven's career.

Jon, or any else know this one ? '67 "Hugger Camaro" looks like Kent, Washington ?  in period judging by the full size '67 Chevy

tow car and second '67 Chevy on the right. I looked at the results for the '67 Kent Trans-Am and didn't see that car, might have

 missed it ?

Factory installed spoilers were painted on the car, that is why there would not be stripes under the spoiler. Cars with a delete stripe option would have special paint. Special paint would noted as a - - on the firewall trim tag.

I have an original paint stripe delete Z28.

In 1970, I lived just East of Toronto, Canada, in my area, there was a '69 Z came out of the States, no spoilers, no stripes, Frost Green code

 59. You say cars with delete stripe option would have special paint, does that mean just the fact there were no stripes ? Frost Green

wouldn't be special order paint would it ? I have vivid memories of that car having driven it a number of times, the owner also bought a '70

LT-1 Corvette from a local dealer when he arrived here avoiding the draft. I had photos but they are lost, just great memories  !

Couldn't find a subject on assorted cars in the foreign Camaros thread, so put it here.

'68 327 ? RS in Europe ? can any body tell what country the tag is from ?

This looks like it could be a shoot for one of those high school year book ads, temp tag and El Camino on the right.

Having worked in a GM plant on inspection that trunk fit doesn't look good !

Are those wheel covers factory for '67s ?

Trophy girl with '67 SS.

Scott, great thread, and research on your part as always !

Here's an ad for Francis Chevrolet promoting the sports cars, drag cars and high performance cars,  with a '68 Yenko Super

Camaro, was this a 427 car ? Are those Pontiac Rally wheels on the car ?

Don't know what paper this was from, had it in my files a long time.
