Guess we can't win Andy  :-\  Yours is obviously one of the type I don't do. Money refunded.

Ok I see the issue, these pictures are in a protected album on Team Chevelle. If their showroom works the same as our over at Team Camaro, then you must be a member of Team Chevelle to see these.

Interesting, thanks for the input. Always good to learn something new every day. I've uploaded them to my regular photo hosting site which should make a difference. In the first picture notice the light reflection in the "laminated" decal, but not on the "regular" decal.  Light was off for the second picture. Hope this helps.

STRANGE Andy. Wonder if other viewers have the same problem. I'll email the pictures to you.

I am posting these pictures primarily for the benefit of Gary.  The lower decal in each picture is laminated which will provide better durability.  However, as mentioned previously, in my opinion it just doesn’t look right.  The laminated one also has a bit of a Yellow tint to it which may not show up in the pictures.  Also, for effect, one picture is taken with the reflection of a light while the other is not.

Anyway, these are your replacements Dave and should go out in the mail tomorrow.

Andy, got your PM. Are you saying you can't see these pictures in my previous post?

Andy, those two pictures each have the paper one on the top and the laminated one on the bottom. Hard to see the differences in a picture except for the light reflection in the second picture in the laminated one. The laminated one is more protective and a little shiny.

Gary, given your feedback, if you were to get one of mine I would suggest it be laminated. I do not have the vinyl material or an appropriate printer to do them that way if that is how some of them were. Maybe Andy will give some feedback when he receives his which may give you a better opinion.

Don, are your emissions stickers printed on paper or vinyl?

Paper

Figured I would jump in here.  Thanks for the kind words above.

Dave, as far as adhesion you should not have any problems. I've had one on my 69 Chevelle for about six years now with no issues. I suppose if you take a wet sponge to it once a week or something there would be some problems. For me all that touches it is a duster.

I've done a lot of these various emission decals for my customers with different engines and cars.  One customer actually asked me to laminate his which I was glad to do.  However, in my opinion, it would just not look right.

Another note for the Z/28 emission CF decal (which is not yours Dave), they had three different styles for the Z and I only do the most common one.

Having said all that, I do notice a problem with the CG decal (the one you have Dave). I went back again today and reviewed all the pictures of originals I have on file.  There should be an "underline" under the word "each" on the sixth line from the top.  I will try to get that corrected and, if I can, I will send you a new one. Also, I'll send you a laminated one as well and you can decide which one you want to use.

Below is a picture from my website showing comparisons of this CG decal.

Certainly not like the Gardner pipes for my 69 Chevelle.  Possibly sidepipes for Corvettes  ???

I was into the Musclecar scene here in Kingston, Ontario back in the late 60's and early 70's.  The two I bought new, 69 RS/SS L48 Auto and 70 Chevelle SS L34 Auto, obviously did not come with smog.  However, I knew guys that did order or buy 1969 cars with smog setups (Z/28's and L78 Chevelles) and they had the smog setups.  I also know our local Chevy dealer did numerous requests from purchasers to remove the setups upon delivery.

I am not aware of this dealer, or any other dealers, removing them on their own before a sale.  Obviously it could have happened outside my knowledge area.

Yes Steve, we are definitely referring to the same thing.  Glad to get that clarified.  Might be one of those Canadian/American term discrepancies  ;D

The outer manifold ports 1 & 7 drivers side and 2 & 8 on passenger side received washers (8). I have seen this on all the unrestored BB cars i've inspected.

That is very interesting Steve and I certainly do not question you due to your stature in the hobby.  There are so many threads over on Team Chevelle about this subject which reveals no washers being used and some of the respondees would be considered to have similar credentials as yourself.  Certainly intriguing considering all the engines essentially were built at the same plant.  Makes for some interesting discussion and debate if nothing else.

As mentioned in my previous post, I did mine based on my research. However, I am never "closed minded" about any of this stuff and am always interested in hearing about various alternatives that might have taken place.

Here are the part numbers I used from AMK.

Inner eight bolts (four inside runners)  - B-10147.
Outer eight bolts (four outside runners) - B-10429.

At least that is what my research indicated.  Hope this helps.  Good luck.

I did the same research several years ago for my 69 Velle.  Turned out to be four bolts with shoulders and four bolts without shoulders.  No washers on any.  I ordered a set from AMK.  I'll go through my invoices to try and find the appropriate part numbers and post back in here.  At that time they did not have a "kit" per say, but you had to order two sets of four individually.  Maybe that has changed by now.

Thanks Brian, unfortunately there is nothing on the website you gave me for the L65 350.

I might be able to make adjustments to that Black "CO" decal shown on my website.  I would need the AC filter number (if not A348C), two digit code (DD?) and part number (6484674?).  Might be worth a shot.  Let me know.
