Here is a photo of the white check valve from a survivor car that won an Vintage award at the Camaro Nat'ls in Carlisle this year.
It is a 04C build. Can't say for sure if it is orig., but it is one of the most complete survivor cars I've seen.

Sorry I should of said it was a 4 bolt.
The owner had asked if I knew how to etch it. I think I can see a slight impression on the pad as it is.Those instructions are great. If we give it a try, I'll post back.
Thanks for the info.

Decoding/Numbers / DZ Block ?
« on: December 11, 2006, 11:08:36 PM »
I was looking at a small block today w/ casting #3956618, casting date C 139.
It has been decked so no numbers on the pad.It has the 3941178 302 crank, I could tell by the crankshaft flange. The heads and intake are later pieces.
I found the VIN on the rough casting near the oil filter flange, but it was very hard to read.
The best I could tell was -
 19N627_14
Couldn't read the 3rd to last number but for sure starts w/ 627.
Is that enough info to see if the car might be in the data base?
What else should I look at to try and confirm it's a DZ ?
Thanks
Billy

I just replaced the U-joints on my '69 L-48 car.It has the offset driveshaft. It orig. came w/ TH-350 tranny, but has a date correct TH-400 from a big car.Not sure when it was swapped but an owner from 1982 says it was like that when he got it.It seems to work fine w/ the TH-400 and dosen't look like it was cut and shortened.

I had the  exact same problem and thought I was gonna have to take the doors apart.I sprayed some "LOCK-EASE" brand Graphited Lock Fluid in the key holes and now they work like new.It has a little snorkel like WD-40 that you can attach and I just sprayed a bunch in.Never thought it would work, but sure did.
