Foreign Camaros / Re: Camaros from foreign (non-US) assembly plants

MO & rocco376 thanks for your replies  ;)

Maybe it isn't a Yutivo car after all ? There are stories (and I think some urban myths) of American cars finding their way to

Vietnam for "personal" note the quotation marks !  use with armed forces people, there was one I seem to remember of an L88

 Corvette in the 'Nam ?

I know for sure that there was a Military Performance Tour in 1970 that went to Vietnam, Japan and the Philippines  with those

other guys  ::)  "Lawman" Mustang drag cars, one of which got dropped or crushed unloading.

And Don Garlits had one of his Swamp Rat rails on an aircraft carrier, but that was later.

Any how getting off topic.

Here's an Olympic Gold Z for sale I've had in my files a long time, didn't think to date the image  ::) Is it the same car ? different

 tires, but that can happen.

Is there something different about the back up lights, hard to tell ?

No posts here for a long time, in relation to Yutivo cars, clearing stuff on my computer I came across this image (maybe a screen

grab from a movie ?) Is it a '67 or '68 on the street, could it be Vietnam ?

Just came across these images while trolling the net, '67 Camaro convertible, aprox 1970 Paris France. You can just see those extra

red lights in the rear pan in the tighter image. Driver seems distracted by the lady in the short skirt on the sidewalk, or maybe the

one on the balcony above the Simca sign, he'd better keep his eyes on the road   ;)

And as usual scroll L-R for full image.

Vince & MO, just for information,  re: SS wheels on '70 Camaros, Quoting Vince's post on Feb. 1st this year " does anyone know the

reason they stopped production of the SS wheels in late '68 or so ?"

Here's a couple of scans from the Canadian '69 model year GM vehicle Ordering Manual, dated April 1st. '69,  shows those SS

wheels to be available but Z27 must be ordered. All prices in Canadian dollars, they weren't cheap !

1970 Camaros, the one with the plane GM promo photo.

What about the nose on photo ? striping and turn/park lights are not production, GM show car ? Could be taken at Milford ?

A bit off topic but re: front & rear pan stripes...back in the day '67-'68 some Trans-Am teams, Sunoco & Morgan cars shown took

 the stripes onto the pans.

It was the '60s & '70s after all !  ::)

Interesting story here in another thread, I wonder if the stripes are original to the car ? looks like they run down to the edge of the

deck lid ? in the write up he says the rear spoiler was added later.

Here's another '67 Camaro RS convertible at a hill climb in France, the lights behind the grill are more visible.

Convertibles were used in hill climbs often, never mind he's wearing a helmet, no roll cage ! different times !

cook_dw & MO,  I think the orange/yellow reverse lights  were required on Camaros sold in France, the other thing was that '67-'69

RS cars sold in France by the regulations had to have extra lights behind the grill. I made an inquiry on a French forum I frequent

and got this answer, image below, also a pic of a '67 RS in a hill climb in France that shows these lights behind the grill.

scroll L-R for full image on the printing
