On a 68 l78 waterpump pulley #3906656 should there be a 2 letter code after the # , and if there is what is the correct code. I see them both ways. Thanks.

The application code is CV. I can't answer if an original car should have the code or not but my guess would be yes. Martin

I'm the original owner of my 68 which still has the original L78 engine and attachments/components. The pulley has the # and CV on it.

Thanks guys for the replies and confirmation on the code.I have a original Canadian documented car but it,s had a hard life .now to figure out the correct valve covers.Whats the difference between the 68 and 69 covers, are the wire supports diferent.
-
The valve covers for 69 have a metal tab on the outer side of the drivers valve cover to hold the temperature sending wire. The 68 valve cover doesn't have this tab. In 68 the temp sending wire was part of the alternator harness so it was routed differently. Both valve covers have drippers. The driver's side rear spark wire stand is in front of the rear inside (near intake) mounting bolt. Good luck finding a set. They were only used on Camaro and Nova. It took me years to find a set for my car. Martin

So if I understand correctly the only difference between the 68 and 69 driver side cover is the tab for the tempeture sending wire and the passenger cover is the same both years. So if I found a set of correct 69 covers and I removed the sending wire tab,you usually need to rechrome them anyway that would work too. What do you think.I have a bb 69 with correct coversso I know what they look like .
