Did the holley carb use a heat insulater between the carb and manifold on the 302 engine.
-
Depends on how "heat insulator" is defined.
Holley carbs used a gasket between the carb and manifold as shown in the assembly manual. They did not use a metal plate as some Quadrajets did.
-
this insulater was a gasket and metal shield seperating heat from the intake maifold from the split gas lines.

If you mean THIS (http://www.ebay.com/itm/110926714783?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649) (P/N 3969835 for the Holley and 3969837 for the Q-Jet), it wasn't used in 1969. They started using these in 1970.

I do not believe that was ever used in production.
-
I remember an insulator/shield llike that being installed on an IROC Z/28 I had at the dealer as part of a TSB on fuel percolation/rough idle.
-
they do have a GM part number, and I recall seeing them around that time frame, but not on '69's..

Holley carbs were phased out of production after '71; maybe the few '72 Z/28s built still used them. There are plenty of vintage magazine photos of those cars and none of them used it.
