Title: 69 Windshield decoding
Post by: TX-302 on July 09, 2012, 12:18:10 AM
I noticed all glass on my 69 Camaro has the Soft Ray LOE markings except for the windshield which has the following:

Soft Ray PPG marking (in place of the LOE) with A-S1, 1-69 DOT 18 M23. Would this possibly be a date correct replacment?

Thanks

I'm not certain on replacement glass but here's a decoded original;

Thumbs up on Mark's link.

My data looks like this below, so I'll assume it's a replacement. Having troubled deciphering the manufacturing date 1-49 code based on the examples from Mark's link. Could it be an April 69 date?
(Car build date 05A)

                                 SHADED
                           SOFT- PPG -RAY
                              LAMINATED
                           SAFETY PLATE
                          AS-1             1-49
                            DOT 18  - M 23

Thanks for all your input!
