Title: John Z - comment please
Post by: Mike S on June 22, 2012, 06:59:24 PM
John Z.

I found this picture on the web and was wondering if this was on the Fisher side of the house and if so is the truck holding the red body similar to those used for the NOR 1st gen Camaros?
I'm getting ready to spray my sub floor and reviewing what conditions a person would have to work under (no pun) would assist in how I attempt to emulate their efforts as far as space availability and obstacles go.

Thank you,
Mike

That's at Fisher Body-Tarrytown, New York in 1959. That carrying truck was used from the Final side of the Body Shop (after Body Framing, which used the very heavy Body Build truck), through the Paint Shop, and through the Trim Shop. Fisher shipped the completed body to Chevrolet on that truck; Chevrolet removed the body and returned the truck to Fisher.

It never ceases to amaze me. I have yet to see a question JohnZ can't answer. Heck, I can't remember what happened last week, much less 50 years ago.
