Title: Do 1969 camaro steering colunms have numbers?
Post by: hdptsr on June 19, 2012, 10:53:29 PM
I want to buy a 1969 tilt colunm for a muncie floor shift car but have not been able to find any place that lists the numbers for that colunm.  Do they even have numbers?  How do I know I am getting the right colunm?

Not sure of the part number or if there is actually one but these columns were used in multiple cars, GM used the same column in a Nova, Camaro and Firebird. Hopefully someone can chime in with an actual part number and more detail but these columns look the same on the outside the difference generally is the wiring and connectors.

The part number according my July 1969 Camaro Parts Catalog is:

Group 6.518 COLUMN ASSEMBLY, STEERING
----------------------------------------------------------------
7808154 1969/ALL FLOOR SHIFT - WITH TILT WHEEL

There was a picture at camaros.net, but it looks like the picture was deleted.  My car is in the shop so I can't check.
