Looking for opinions on the best/safest battery trickle charger to purchase. I usually connect my regular battery charger every now & then when the 68 has been sitting for long periods of time. Would like to utilize one of the smaller battery maintainers/trickle chargers that I can leave connected all winter. Have an Optima AGM style battery. Thanks.

I've been using the Deltran "Battery Tender+" maintainer on my classics for at least 20 years; just replaced the AC-Delco Professional Series #24-7YR battery this year on my '69 Z/28 - it only lasted 12 years. :)

I'm using a batteryminder 1224b - works well - it brought my lawn tractor battery back to life, one yellow top optima and 2 Dualpro trolling batteries back to live as well. Works with AGM, Gel and wet cell batteries - up to 8 amps of charging power, and goes down to trickle charge when they are topped off. I have enough batteries after using this for a year I picked up another one so I can cover my charging needs.

I find the Deltrans don't last very long; mine was junk after 5 years.
Got this one at Barrett-Jackson 2011. Lots of features; works well.
