Title: 68 RS wheel well mouldings
Post by: Rick68 on April 25, 2012, 06:39:42 PM
I was at a Camaro show last year and met a guy who gave me a photo copy of the template that was included with the GM wheel well mouldings for a 1968 RS.It shows where to cut the front mouldings since the rear ones were already shortened.Anybody out there need this?

rick,
R/S mouldings going on a R/S should not have to be cut. This is from GM?

Yes,they came with 880 & 881s from GM in the 70's right after they discontinued the RS only fronts

The instruction sheet is dated Feb 2 1974 and has a picture of the moulding and where to cut it and drill the hole for the screw. On the bottom of the sheet it says"REWORK REQUIRED WHEN USING UNIT 9785880-81 ON 1968 CAMARO RALLY SPORT (Z22).

I bought 4 new 68 R/S wheel mouldings from Champion Chevrolet in Manhatten Beach in 1980. Installed them two years ago with a repaint, they fit perfect, came with small package of screws, all holes were correct, and no instructions at all.

Rick if you are actually posting the pic it maybe too large a file. If you have Google plus or other internet share account you can post it there then link here with no size restrictions.

Rick,

Can you either post, or e-mail, me a photo of your "trimmed" RS wheel well moldings, front and rear (part that was trimmed)?  I'm particulary interested in the fit of the front and rear RS wheel well moldings next to the RS rocker spears.  Thanks!
