Title: Is there a market for a '67 6cyl engine?
Post by: reefer_bob on March 19, 2012, 09:48:23 PM
A friend of mine has recently unearthed a '67 6 cyl Camaro which is undergoing a full upgrade.  The 6 cyl didn't make the cut and he's turning it into a v8 car.  This is against my urging, but I can only do so much.

I don't think he's looking to sell the engine, but rather just get rid of it.  It has a 4 speed tranny as well.  It ran as of a month ago when it came out of the car.

The engine is in Nor-Cal.  I doubt he'd be willing to crate and ship it.

Just putting a feeler out there.

Where in Northern Calif?  May be interested in using it in an early 50's chevy.

Do you know if it has  power steering?  I need the bracket that mounts the cradle to the block on a 67 six cyl, I would also buy the whole engine if I lived closer however I live on east coast.

67conv6cyl: No, it does not have PS.  Sorry.

A lot of power boaters like to use 6cyls because they can be mounted close together, Two 6 Cyl's take just about the same space as a V8.
You get 12 for the space of 8...

put a craigslist ad - -can't hurt?

Bob,
I'd be interested in a pic of the engine pad (next to the distributor) if it's not a big inconvenience. And a pic of the trim tag too. No problem if it's a bother....

Out of curiousity, does the car have a sway bar?

Thanks!
