Title: 67 CAMARO 12 BOLT CODE QS
Post by: CROSSRAMJL8 on March 18, 2012, 05:03:52 AM
I just bought a 67 Camaro SS believe to be all numbers matching. The 12 bolt has the bracket for the traction bar and is date coded correctly. The whole car looks like it was driven for 20 years and parked. the problem I am having is the code is QS? It dose not show up in my books. Any ideas greatly appreciated. Also there is no bracket on the floorboard for the traction bar. The bracket on the rearend has never had anything bolted to it. The car is 6b 1967 Thanks Tony

Tony,

A "QS" rear axle for the '67 Camaro was a 3:07:1, 12 bolt, non-positraction unit.

I have seen that some where on the web. but Chevroley by the Numbers does not list that code in 67?

Thanks Mike- So I guess it is not odd that my car dose not have the bar since it is a powerglide car. The fact it dose not have 4p code still confuses me.

Yes it does.  There is a note at the bottom of the 67 camaro axle codes that says "For addotional 1967 Camaro rear axle codes, see end of chapter."  It is after the 69 axle codes.
