Title: 1969 RS Model and Custom Door Handles
Post by: phxcosmo on February 19, 2012, 02:50:23 AM
Can anyone tell me with certainty if the RS package (Z22) required the Z87 trim package with the custom door handles.?  I have found a few places that call those custom door panels and handles "part of a true RS package" but lots of other places that don't discuss the Z87 package as directly related to the RS.   I know everything can be bought and swapped, but I'm trying to sort out as many true RS features as possible to up my odds on buying a real one.  Thanks

Completey unrelated options.
http://www.camaros.org/options.shtml - the option list has some info on both options and the ID section has info on RS features.

Thanks Kurt.  That is what I seem to find on the more reliable sites.  Another related question - it seems all of the differences in X33 and X77 code cars are external cosmetic items and don't have anything to do with interior trim.  Have you ever seen anything that ties any interior finish item to X33 vs X77?

Thanks

The X-codes dictate the Exterior and has nothing to do with interior.

Thanks Daniel.  That's what I thought, but figured I'd take advantage of broad knowledge out there.

The only difference between X77 and X33 is the absence or presence of the Z21 exterior appearance items; an RS/Z28 is also an X33, as RS includes the Z21 package.
