Title: Roger Peck Chevrolet
Post by: Green68RS on February 15, 2012, 03:24:02 PM
Hi,
I am restoring a 68 RS originally sold at Roger Peck Chevrolet in Farmington MI.  Does anyone happen to have a photo or anything from that era of the dealership?
Thanks,
Kevin

Google Maps shows there is still a Chevy dealership at 30250 GRAND RIVER AVE Farmington Hills, Michigan.

I wonder if anyone there might have an old photo.

Thanks Dave.  Holiday purchased Roger Peck Chevrolet in 1984.  Holiday Chevrolet closed when they downsized the dealerships during the bankruptcy. Not sure this is the same building. I think Roger Peck may have been in a building down the road from this one in 1968.  The local historical society and library have no info on this. I have the original shipping invoice but it does not have the street adress, just the dealer name and town.

Nice.  Thanks Ed!!!

For Holiday Chevrolet in Farmington Hills, MI, I found this site: http://www.loopnet.com/Listing/16372764/30250-Grand-River-Farmington-Hills-MI/ (http://www.loopnet.com/Listing/16372764/30250-Grand-River-Farmington-Hills-MI/)

with this picture:

which might be the same building as when it was Roger Peck Chevrolet.  It looks like that site is fully built out right now when I look at the Google Map image.

a pic of Holiday Chevrolet while in business.

Looks like it ended badly:

There is also a case on the Web where the labor board sued the dealer.

Kevin,

I wonder if the building department could tell you when the current building at 30250 Grand River Ave was built: http://www.ci.farmington-hills.mi.us/services/planningandcommdev/Building/OverviewBuildingDivision.asp (http://www.ci.farmington-hills.mi.us/services/planningandcommdev/Building/OverviewBuildingDivision.asp)

I think I found the current owner of the building.  I will call her next week and see what she knows.

I found a Roger Peck Chevrolet OK used car ad from 1968.  The address was 32715 Grand River, Farmington MI.  I talked to the owner of the Holiday Chevrolet building shown above and she was sure that the original Roger Peck Chevrolet was down the street from the one above.

Besides my 68 Camaro, I also have an original restored 72 Chevelle SS that was originally sold from Roger Peck Chevrolet.  I'll be keeping my eye on this thread for more info.

Thanks,
Mike
