Title: 1967 front and rear spoiler
Post by: 1969rs on February 12, 2012, 04:22:18 AM
Was a front and / or rear spoiler an option on the 1967 Camaro?

Thx in advance.

"Spoilers (D80): The spoiler option was not available in 1967 on any Camaro. It became available as an option on all cars (except those with a rear antenna) in 68-69."

As stated by Kurt under Production Options.

Thanks guys. But it does look like it could have been a dealer installed option. Some people hate the way 67's look with spoilers, some like it. I respect both opinions. For me personally, I like the profile of a 1st Gen with front and rear spoiler. I have a second deck lid that I plan on matching the color and installing the deck lid. I will retain the original deck lid w/o the spoiler.

I would say that back in the day, as soon as spoilers were available - many 67 owners ran right to the dealerships and had them installed.

Yes, it adds to the sports car look, just like the Ferrari 246 SP inspired look the early 60s.
