Title: 69 shifter hole in floor board
Post by: sixt9x33rs on February 07, 2012, 03:14:00 AM
Did all 69 manual floor shift cars have the floor board cut with a torch? Regardless of tranny type?

Dont know about all but mine is torch cut. Had a 69 GTO that looked like it was cut with a can opener.

Only factory 4-speeds are like that.

Ok, now I am getting somewhere...so if I had a factory 3 speed car and put a Muncie in it the shifter would probably hit the floor board in 2nd and 4th? I think I have a facotry 3 speed car. When I got my convertible it had an incorrect 4 speed Saginaw. So just trying to piece the facts together why my shifter hits.

Thanks,

Check this thread out.....Post # 3 has some templates for the hole cutout.  Compare it to your car and see if your cutout is the right dimensions.

Here are pictures of my cut out and the ring that fits the cutout. The screw holes line up. Looks like it was a 3 speed to me.
