Title: 67 Mono leaf springs
Post by: confederate1tenn on January 30, 2012, 05:11:36 PM
Hi everyone,

I was wondering what the difference was between the mono leaf springs between the coupe and convertible? I know that the convertible is heaver so does that mean a heaver rated spring?

Read this...  http://www.camaros.org/l30m20.shtml#springs

You can find the original spring information for the 1967 Camaro in the 67 AIM.

Spring rate wasn't determined strictly by model, but by options installed on the car. As you can see from the chart below (taken from the 67 AIM referenced by Paul above), Convertibles with certain options received the same springs as Coupes with certain options and vise versa. BJ and BB are two examples for 67, but in 68 and especially 69, things got a lot more complicated!
