Title: Brake Shoes

Putting brake shoes on 67 camaro front and rear and question is does the long shoe (primary ) face the front and shorter face rear (secondary) ?  ???

Nope, the primary brake shoe is the short lining and faces forward.

From a simplistic viewpoint, when you put on the brakes, the shoes are expanded outward until they contact the drums.  Assuming that you are going forward, rotational forces from the drums rotate the shoes forward until the rear shoe engages the post at the top, above the wheel cylinder.  At this point maximum braking force is available with the rear shoe providing more of the braking force - hence long shoe goes to the rear.
