Hello everyone.
I really need some advice. I have found a 1967 350 3892657 cast block, crank, heads, and some other parts.
The block is dated September 8/66. My car was built on December 28/66. i have a correct year 327 in the car now.
My issue is that the 67 350 block is $3,500.
It has been honed and prepped for rebuilt.
Is it worth it to spend $3,500 on a very close to correct dated block for the 67 RS/SS?
Opinions please!!!!

Nope. It isn't your original block so it isn't worth $3500.
You can put the $3500 in the glove compartment and the car will be worth more that way. ;D

Tell us what your primary plan is for the car: drive it, show it and/or sell it?
Mark is right. It is a non matching numbers car in either of those options.
But I see your delimma, with a 327 in it, it is a nice RS, but a RS/SS clone.

Mark and Phillip bring up good points. I believe your decision should be based on what your plans are for the car, best of luck in whatever you decide.

The plan for the car is to rebuild the drivetrain this winter and to drive it in the summer.
It needs very little in the way of body work but next winter it will go in for body and paint. It will go back to Tahoe Torquoise then. And again, we will drive it in the summers.
We are building a 57 Buick Special convertible which will take years to complete. The Camaro was bought for my son and I to drive every summer. Eventually we will likely have the Camaro completely done in five or six years. But for now it is our driver.
I do agree that the car is a driver without a 350 and I want it as close to original as possible.
I doubt that I can find another 1967 350 that is as close to mu build date.
I think I need to suck up the price and pretend I only paid $350, and not $3,500. Lol
