Title: power brake booster code
Post by: baldeaglemtnman on June 20, 2006, 12:38:01 AM
I have an 11c built 69.  The tab on the top of the booster reads 0426. Anyone know what this means?

If it is on the firewall side of the tab it is the GM part number. If it is on the engine side of the tab it should be a Julian date, but should only be 3 numbers. That is 1-366 for each day of a leap year. 11C should be less than 340 or so. Could be a replacement of some sort.

Gary,
The number is on the firewall side of the booster as viewed from inside the car. Thanks for the info. I'm discovering that the Z/28 I bought is either a fake or the poorest preserved example on earth. Gee, bet nobody's ever heard that before.

'0426' is the tab number for a 1970 Firebird with the HP option.

Thanks for the info. It seems I have purchased Frankenstein on wheels.
