Title: 1969 z/28 clutch pressure plate
Post by: asm69 on June 18, 2006, 02:06:15 AM
Where can I find the casting number or part number or build date on the clutch pressure plate.
Are there any numbers to be found on the clutch disc.

Thanks

Chances are slim to none that it still has the original GM clutch in it, and the aftermarket clutch manufacturers all have their own methods of marking pressure plates and discs.

The clutch disc itself has GM stamped on the rivet heads. But, I cannot find any identifying
numbers on the clutch pressure plate. It would be nice to know where GM stamped
or cast the numbers on the pressure plate.

Thank you

GM didn't manufacture their clutches - they bought them from an outside supplier.
