Title: 69 Z/28 Tach Stops at 4000 RPM
Post by: 69z28302 on November 07, 2011, 11:42:50 PM
Have just recently got the car running. A trip to the muffler shop and to get an alignment. Was out tonight a 'hit it" a couple of times and noticed the tach stopped at 4000 RPM.
Any Ideas?

Thanks CRG

Maybe the needle has a flat spot. If you open the pod cover can you manually move the needle beyond 4000?

Problems ...............these are great folks and did a fantastic job on my Z's original 7K tac. http://www.tachman.com     First place I sent it to, Instrument Services in Chicago totally screwed it up and could have cared less since they already got my $'s
good luck!

Thanks.  I'll chk that 69 Pace. If I have no results I'll pull it and send it to the Tach Man.

I took the tach out to checked it. It was hitting the screw on the face right at the 4 grand mark. Bent the needle out a little and now it works fine.
