Title: NOS Trunk Weatherstrip
Post by: tmodel66 on September 28, 2011, 04:12:33 PM
My painter found 3 or 4 '69  NOS Trunk Weatherstrip. Are these things worth $132. Seems high but I've heard the after market don't fit too good. I can't find anything about previous auctions on eBay for price comparison. Has anybody bought 1 of these? If so how much did it cost?

Never Mind the guy already sold them all to one man. I can't believe it. He sold them over night. I guess they were worth it after all.

It can go for a lot more than that.  I hate to say that was probably a good deal.

I would agree, that was a great price as I have seen these sell on E-Bay from $200-$300 all day long.

It's a decent price but they're not worth a fortune. The original ones with the string are most desirable. The seals you mostly see for sale are the ones with a triangular, hollow plastic center reinforcement. They fit OK but require the bottom to be trimmed to provide better fitment and compression for proper decklid closure. You will see them often and until recently were available OTC. They are not exclusive to Camaros. Metro seals are alright.

I just paid 250 for NOS with the white string... the one without the string are pretty common.

I guess I proved the old saying "study long, you study wrong" to be true.  Should have just bought it.
