Title: can anyone confirm this?
Post by: ggtsvnv on September 12, 2011, 03:39:08 AM
First let me say I'm not saying the car is not a 68 Z/28 but.... is there any way to prove this guys numbers that the car is one of one, or one of 17 with headers & cowl plenum or some of the other stuff he claims?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevrolet-Camaro-1968-CAMARO-REAL-RS-Z28-MO-RARE-COWL-PLENUMN-PROJECT-12-BOLT-PROTECT-O-PLATE-/130574841536?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item1e66ddf6c0

IT would be a beautiful car restored but I'm not sure about all his claims.

I haven't got the time, but can someone count the number of times this guy says "rare"?

And no, there's no way to know if it's one of one.

Quote from the ad: CAR COULD AND WILL POSSIBLY BE ON OF THE RAREST 1968 CAMARO Z28 CARS EVER PRODUCED BY GENERAL MOTORS IN THE YEAR OF 1968. IN 1967 THEY HAD 602 Z28 CARS THROUGH EVEN WHEN THEY ONLY MADE 69 ZL1 CARS IN 1969, BUT ACCORDING TO CAMARO RESEARCH GROUP AND OTHER SOURCES, THIS COULD BE THE ONLY 1 EVER PRODUCED IN THE CAMARO MODELS YEARS FROM 1967-TILL CURRENT!!!

Ed, I have searched CRG and cannot find anything on this car.  Must be top secret.

Typical unsubstantiated, over-hyped rust-bucket looking for a sucker.

Looks like it's already over the value to me.

17 or 18..."Oh did I mention it was rare" ??? Amazing what rust sells for these days. Even more amazing is the lack of a cap for this ultra rare beauty.

Ad says the car's been indoors since the 70's. Where was it before that, in the ocean?

I sent an email to Kurt to have him contact the seller and have him remove the CRG reference, but so far it's still there.

You can't edit an ebay auction once it has bids on it.

That is very rare rust that only comes on 1 of 1 cars  ;D

Is that original or after market rust? I am only interested in original rust, the after market stuff just isn't quite right!

Wow that seems like good money for that car only because it needs just about all of its sheet metal replaced, judging from the pictures of course. That car will eat up a lot of money if it is restored properly. Hopefully who ever bought it has the means to do a lot of the work. Would be nice if we see the car surface once it is restored. Rememeber that Cowl tag.
