Title: 69 INDY L78 M-22...REAL CAR??
Post by: Iluv69s on June 12, 2006, 10:24:46 AM
I purchased a package of parts a while back that included a pacecar project car(basket case). I was wondering if anyone knows any history on the car?? I have spoken to the owner from 1979 who says he pulled the original 375 hp motor in favor of a 350. Apparently the car is known as it was once listed on ebay. The car is in bad shape, but still retains the original paint. The car has a manual top and no console, which I find interesting. Car was in Ny state most of its life apparently. I have posted on camaros.net also. Any info would be appreciated. Is there an official pacecar registry??

    thanks

ps.  i do have the M-22 with the partial vin and the C code suffix on the assembly date.

   car info is:  vin 617795

    03D                               nor 280366
    tr 723                            50A pnt
                                         Z11

Yes, there is a PACE CAR REGISTRY AND WEB SITE (http://www.camaropacecars.com/). Post the info there and someone might be able to help.

By the way, does the transmission VIN match the car's VIN?

It's a real, known car. Mr Cunneen looked at it several years ago.
