I'm looking to buy a camaro with claim of orig window sticker but the options that are listed don't seem to jive with the RPO data on this website. For example, it's supposed to be an orig SS but sticker has D96 stripes on it. RPO list says N/A w/ SS.
Also, it has U17, U 35, and U63 all on the sticker. RPO list says U16 N/A w/ U17.
Is this proof positive that the sticker is fake??
Thanks!

Post a picture of the sticker if you can.

SS w/D96 stripe...Does the car have RPO Z21? If it does the D96 stripe would apply.
U16 N/A w/U17...U17 is okay as long as the car did not come w/U16 (tach).
I agree w/Bryon...the more pics you can post with pertanent details/numbers referencing this car, the more this site will be able to assist you. Examples; Engine Pad, transmission, rear axle, trim tag, VIN, etc. If you need assistance posting pics PM me and I'd be happy to assist.

No Z21. The pic of the sticker is too small and low res to make out. The seller listed all the options separately. All the dates line up. But if this is solid proof that the sticker is not original, I'll consider it a date-correct restamp and price accordingly. Thanks.

Only one stripe option per car. An SS even with Z21 would not have D96.
U17 is special instrumentation which included a clock.
Repro window sticker.

Does the window sticker have a 6-digit number in the upper right corner? Most reproductions don't, and all orignals do.
-
Here you go...pretty lo res, I know, but can you tell on this pic if the number is there?
-
It's a repro number or not.

Ya know, people would be a lot better off if they would just say they think it came with ... or I don't know but check it out, instead of recreating stuff and trying to say it's real.

Just wondering if I should tell him and show the proof, or just let it be.

Most likely you'll get an arguement and told you don't know squat, especially if they bought it from someone else, thinking it was genuine and now realize they were duped.
If you're no longer interested I'd just walk away, maybe just say there were discrepancies. If they really want to know what they are, they'll ask. If you're still interested definitely use it as a bargaining tool and walk if things get heated.
If you have any info like VIN or trim tag the mods here or at TC site may want to add to their databases, so any future buyers know that at least the paperwork is fake, if not more.
