Title: 1969 Z28 theft recovery
Post by: wisemanz28 on August 13, 2011, 01:39:40 PM
Thru past owers I was told my car came from Milwaukee Wisconsin. The car was purchased as a theft recovery vehicle sometime in the early 1970's or 1971. Being that it was stolen would there be any way to find old police records or any other kind of info to locate who owned the car when it was stolen?

Having done dozens of title/registration searches when it was easy there is no harm in trying. However new privacy laws have limited what you can do. Here in WI all you would get is the owner of record as of 10 years ago. If it was not here at the time the record will state "nt delete" whatever that means. No one keeps records 40+ years.

As stated I'm in Wisconsin very close to Milwaukee. Maybe the car came from a friend's dealership; I have copies of all the Camaros sold there. PM me with the VIN.
