Title: 67-68 shifter mounting nuts - for sale
Post by: KurtS on August 10, 2011, 06:43:43 PM
Many years ago, CRG had reproductions of the 67-68 shifter nuts made. These are the nuts that are used to mount the manual trans shifter housing to the transmission crossmember - shown on page A4 of the M20 section of the Assembly Manual (#14 and 18 in 67, #13 and 17 in 68).
These have not be repro'd by anyone else and we want to make them available to restorers. The price is $20 including shipping.
Paypal to my email or email me for my address.

Thanks!
Kurt

Kurt....Now you tell me....I bought at keast three used shifters on Ebay before I finally got those nuts.  Seriously though....I was also looking for other shifter parts when these nuts finally showed up on one of them.  Don't know for sure how many used shifters I now have but I think I now have enough good parts to make two complete shifters and rods.

Do you have any other shifter parts on hand?  Always need to know additional sources for any part.

I am glad I found those in the pile of gease & gunk when I pressure wash my crossmember they were covered in grease and stayed in plce while carrying the cross member to & from the truck & at the thime I diidn't even know those parts existed.

That's what happened to me.  I went to clean the greasy junk off and this oblong thing came off.

I actually found a set in a junkyard...the standard 3-speed floor shifters used the same nuts

Yup, the samples that these nuts were based on came from a 3-speed shifter.

Yes, there still are some nuts left. ;)
But I'm out of the country for the next year, so any orders for these will have to wait til I return.

Actually, as mentioned in other posts, we were in Costa Rica.
We've been back for a while and I now can fill any orders for these nuts. :)
