Title: DZ. 302. Camaro
Post by: nitrousjason on August 05, 2011, 10:19:00 PM
Ok guys. I have a lemans blue with whit stripe 1969 z28. Numbers matching fourbolt main 302.  This car has fire damage to the rear.  It burnt from the trunk to the door post.  The car would need extensive restoration.  I do have the valve covers intake shifter seats ect!!  Someone stole the heads and tranny.  The dash forward did not burn. This is a clear title car that will need a complete rest. The original disk brake front end and 10 bolt reared is on the car. I know that I don't have pictures to post. But I'm thinking about selling it. What is a project like this worth with the # matching block and clear title!  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  I don't want to short change myself on eBay.  Thanks Jason!!!!!'

To be hones Jason, it sounds like it needs a TON of work and even if it was complete and all numbers matching, todays economy is just God awful so it's not worth a lot of money. I'm thinking in the 3-5k range, but only because of the engine. The rest is really worth nothing.

Can you send us the VIN, the Trim Tag info and the engine pad stamp? Maybe a few of the car itself? I'd like to add your car to the database. (Pictures would be great, but if you don't have a camera, just the numbers will be fine.)

My email address is in my profile.

Thanks

Ed

I agree with Ed, you have the original engine and that is where the value is. The extensive fire damage will hurt the value, I would say $5K seems about right.

More than that with the 12 bolt in it. I could easily see $10K, but it depends on the pics.

How bad is it burnt? If it is salvageable needing cosmetic sheet metal replacement... ie quarters, decklid, tail pan and the previous restoration was fairly good I can see 10-15. For 20-25 you should be able to restore it with a very nice paint job. I wouldn't mind having 35-45k into a restored Lemans Blue #'s matching 69 Z.
