I would like to hear differing opinions on how to finish the under carriage as well as frame and rearend from bare metal to finish. I will be starting mine in a couple weeks when I get it back from sheetmetal work. Also would like to know what the factory did?
Thanx

From the factory, the underbody was gray primer with some body color overspray on the outer edges from the guns that sprayed the bottom of the rockers. :)

I guess a good plan would be to use a good epoxy type coating the color of primer gray for the underside then let the body overspray give it the original look. Thanx..Buddy

We spray the under carriage after sand blasting with Por 15 then sand the sand it lightly to knock off the shine and spray it black.
Looks real good when its finished.

yep, POR15 works good.

Have heard of other products that are less expensive than Por 15, like ever free is one I think. Is Por 15 the king. I am close to doing the pans and trunk on mine. Money of course is a consideration, But I want this to last and to not have to do it again. Thanks

Just did mine with black DP90 and it looks killer.
