Title: '67 Parking Brake Bracket Date Code
Post by: MyRed67 on July 02, 2011, 02:45:33 AM
I had a very pleasant surprise today.  I am replacing the rear Frame Rails on my 67 Camaro as the fronts are rusted through in places.  Anyhow, I got my new frame Rails and was surprised to find that the Parking Brake cable bracket was not already in place.  To make matters worse, one was missing.  I couldn't find anywhere that sold just the bracket(which the supplier said he would reimburse).  So I decided to clean up and use the old ones, as the repos didn't look anything like the originals.  In the process of cleaning them up I found Date Codes on them.  I will post a pic., they are on the top side on the triangle part right where the cable attaches.  On the car you would need a mirror to see it as it would be facing the floorboard.  The missing bracket ended up being a blessing in disguise, a bonus in the end.
