As a member of the MD Camaro Club I want to thank everybody who turned out and made our first Nationals in Frederick MD. such a huge success!
We sure had a great time and and a tremendous showfield.I didn't have time to take as many pictures as I wanted, but here is link to the ones I took.
http://www.dotphoto.com/Go.asp?l=lynnmckee&P=B817&AID=6396912&Pres=Y

a link to a video of the parade leaving the hotel
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lX_iVPl9kjg

The photos start with us lining up at the host hotel for the parade to Downtown Frederick. We had 60+ cars and the city blocked off the downtown area for us to pack and hang out. I was having so much fun talking with the locals that I didn't get any downtown shots.
Then some of the Concourse cars in the two buildings, and some showfield shots.I'll post more links when we get some more shots up.
Enjoy,
Billy

Could not attend due to being in Pittsburg darn it but how many cars were in attendance and part of legend judging? Would love to see some of the great cars that were in attendance. Same issue as Paul trying to see pictures.....
Glad it went well and the sun was shining ;D
On another note, were any decisions made for next year concerning dates?

Bill, I had a good time, even though I didn't have a car there. As a spectator it was well planned, nice facility, GOOD food, all of whiuch is important. I got to check out your car, which is extra cool. I loved the '68 with 10,000 miles. For those that weren't there, the only charge to spectators was a $5 parking fee, which I understand was given to charity.  Thanks to all that had a hand in it. I'll be there next year!

Sorry, link fixed now.
I'm not sure exact count on Legend cars, but we had bigger buildings that we used to have and they were pretty much full.Right now same dates for next year.
Maroman , I'm glad you had a good time.My wife Lynn was in charge of lining up the food vendors so you made Her day :)

This was a small show, with few vendors, and little if any food, or drinks. There were some nice cars, but not a large volume.  Liked the new ZL-1,   and some 1st gen. camaros, that were quality cars!  Saw an interesting X11 documented 69 Z28. Hope for better show next year!

Don,
I'm a little biased as we put on the show, but I have to disagree on a couple of points.
I will agree not as many merchandise vendors as the other show, but we think 350 Camaros was a pretty good car count for the first time at this Venue.
There was also plenty of food and drinks available. We had 4 full service food vendors and 2 specialty ones selling everything from great crab cakes, shrimp, fish, pit beef, turkey, ham, sausage, hamburgers, hot dogs, cheese steak, fresh cut fries, etc.
Every owner I spoke to was pleased to be at the new venue and we see nothing but bigger and better things next year.
Respectfully,
Billy McKee

I Think the show was great for a first year show! The people were very nice!  I was there  Sat. from 8 till 1 . I have been in the hobby for 30 years. I'm sure you guys put in a lot of hard work. I don't know why in all that time I couldn't find the food vendors?  Signs were sparse ,and hand made. Vendors were complaining of poor sales.  I'm sure next year will be better.........DON

First show is always the hardest so congratulations to everyone involved for what was accomplished and a toast for continued future growth.  Billy, I as many want your club/group/team to be sucessfull since its good for the hobby and great for all of us that are in reasonable driving distance especially when I for one want to have our car legend judged when completed.  With that I was disappointed in reading your message that stated for now the same date for next year. IMHO if you keep the same date it forces a lot of people to make a decision on which show to attend, Carlisle or Frederick, vs. the joy of taking in both. And that decision (which one do I attend) impacts vendors, show cars, and all facets of the hobby.

Don,
I didn't mean to get so defensive about the food.We wanted to make sure there was a variety and the lines weren't too long. There was an area right in the middle of the showfield near our registration tent where the fair grounds have  power and water set up where most of them are during the fair. That's where they all were and not scattered around the grounds.
The subject of the date is tough. We sure didn't do it to make it a competition and make people choose, but well...... that is the date of the Camaro Nationals and that is what we are putting on. Camaro Enthusiasts plan their vacations every year on that weekend and many can't change it to another.I know it would be tough for me. The ACA was putting on the Camaro Nationals before Carlisle piggybacked the GM Nationals with our event. It's unfortunate we couldn't work w/ them any longer but that is just the reality of it.

I went Saturday (6 hr drive each way) and had a great time.  Everyone I talked to was friendly, down to earth, talked about Camaro's, their car, etc., etc..... super great folks!!! I made some new friends and met some I haven't seen in years... Some highlights I saw among the many;  a super rare documented 69 Z28 X11 code and a 69 L48 survivor car, .... so many beautiful Camaro's I filled the digital camera disc... The area is a very nice area and I sure hope to be back next year. Nothing but good things to say and a big thank you to all who worked hard to make it happen.

That 69 RS/SS of John's is a neat piece. Very original, and has some unusual options. That is the first HD 3-spd with a console I have ever seen in a 69. I took lots of pictures of this car...........RatPack.............

That was the first time I was able to take any cars to Camaro Nationals. It was great for me because I live 20 miles from Frederick. I had a great time, saw some really cool cars and met some great people. It would be nice to figure out how to attract more of the "high end", cars though. I understand Jerry M became ill during the whole event so we missed his participation. I hope he's doing ok. I look forward to doing it again next year.

I drove all day Thursday to attended the show on Friday.  Being new to Camaros, this was my first National event so I didn't know what to expect. I must have set my expectations too high as I was somewhat disappointed. I chose to go on Friday as my main intent was to pick up parts for my project and I figured the selection would be best on the 1st day of the event. I only saw 1 parts vendor selling new items and 2 people selling parts in more of a swap meet type environment. I did purchase a few items from the vendor selling new parts. He mentioned that he wished he new there wasn't going to be any competition as he would have brought everything he had. I will commend him on his character as he kept his prices very competitive and in my case lower than the catalog I typically purchase from. The other two guys had nice parts but nothing I was looking for. I did speak with somebody associated with the event about the lack of vendors and they noted that it should be better on Saturday as most people have to work during the week. I thought this was odd as I was told the # of vendors at Carlisle was plentiful.

It doesn't sound like there will be any reconciliation with Carlisle and the ACA but I sure hope one of them decide to change their date. I made the best of my visit to MD but will really have a decision on my hands for the 2012 event.

I drove all day Thursday to attended the show on Friday...

Man you guys are spoiled. 7 1st gen camaros is the most I have ever counted at any NM shows. There are plenty of the new camaros but all I have to do is drive to the local Chevy dealership and look at those all day long. As for parts at our shows...there are plenty if you want your 1st gen tricked out. Appreciate what you have in your own back yard.

I spotted what looked like two L48's in Billy's lattest pics. One is bright green and appears to be spot on. Is this John's car or can I find it in any other pics?

Marty,
The Rallye Green L-48 is mine. That's one of the reasons I was hoping to see your car, I don't get to see many restored back to stock.
After 2nd in class the past four years at the Nationals I was pleased to win 1st in class, 67-69 stock, this year.I'd be happy to send you some pics, let me know what you are looking for.
Maroman, yeah I know that guy in the red, white and blue shirt. It's always nice to have him around to help w/ security :)
restore-z28, my pleasure glad you enjoyed the pics.

Great looking car Billy! And...congratulations on your 1st in class award. Judging from the pics, you also had some pretty stiff competition.

As for my car being restored back to stock, lets just say I thought it was until I joined this site. It was a rude but welcoming awakening. No way is it the caliber of what I've seen on this site. I had no idea you guys were so anal  ;)...just what I was searching for!  My guess is around 85%, and thanks to CRG I'm gaining ground. My goal is to have it close to where it needs to be before I make the short 1900 mile journey  to your neck of the woods.

It would be great if you can send me some pics. I am particularly interested in detailed pics of the engine bay & under carrage. But I certainly won't turn down any others you may have. I will PM you my email address.

Thanks again!

Chick,
Sorry I haven't had a chance to answer your question about Judged cars.I'm not sure how many cars that were in the two buildings that were Bowtie, Legends Bowtie,Legends and Vintage Judged.I will try to find out for you. We don't do red, white and blue anymore. The Maryland Camaro Club Judged 68 cars in the Heartbeat class. This is the 200 point "show and shine" class. There were 26 different Heartbeat Classes.
There were 4 cars in my class this year.
