Title: Accelerator Controls Dissassembly
Post by: rockSS on May 17, 2011, 12:08:47 PM
Reference 1969 Camaro AIM UPC 6, Sheet D1. I have a V8 SB automatic. In the disassemby and removal process of the accelerator lever, firewall support, rod, and pedal. I removed the 2 firewall support screws and the bolt, washers, and nut from the lever arm (part #3923503). My question: How do I remove the lever arm from the end of the rod (part #3909980)? Does the arm simply pull off of the notched end of the rod? Sorry for the rather elementary question, but I don't want to spend a lot of time or frustration factor on this.

Once the bolt is completely removed the pieces should separate.

You may have to spread the clamp slightly with a screwdriver after loosening the bolt; it'll come right off.
