Title: 69 DZ Carb Date Code

hello all, I'm new to the discussion group and I'm also in the process of purchasing a 69 Z, so I'm trying to decode authenticity the numbers for the car. Looking at the three digit code it seems this is a 68 year model carb, would I be correct? Carb data below:
3923289-DZ
List 4053
8A3

Yes you are correct. 3rd week of Nov. 68.

Meaning this DZ carb date code 8A3 was installed on either a 68 Z or an early production run of the 69Z?

This carb would not have been on a 68 Z since the 68 model year was over when it (carb) was born but would have been on a somewhat early 69 model year Z/28 or L78 Camaro.

My 12A L78 has a 3959164-GE list 4346 dated 8A2.

My 12B 69 RS Z has a 3923289-DZ - 4053 - 8A3.
