Title: Heat Riser Tube
Post by: tim69camaro on April 22, 2011, 01:42:23 AM
What is the correct part number for a heat riser tube? I saw this one on Craiglist and was wondering if this is a good price.

The L48 auto tube was P/N 3942531 (also used on L30, L65, and LM1); the base V-8 auto tube was P/N 3942530.

Supposedly there's one available from OBSOLETE CHEVY PARTS (http://www.parts123.com/PartFrame.asp?ZTM=cadeflkc&GHOME=parts123.com/CHEVROLET_1957_CAR_PARTS.HTM&TITLE=OBSOLETE CHEVROLET PARTS CO), so you might want to get a price on his to compare. (Use the drop down box and select "Search by Part #" then put in 3942531 to pull it up)

Note that this part was also used in later years on other models as well, such as 70 Camaro 350 and 72-74 full size 350 and 400. Do a google on 3942531 and you can get more info.

Thanks for the great information. Goggle search shows another is listed on Ebay for about the same price.
