I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR A 3917610 Z/28 INTAKE MANIFOLD FOR MY 04A BUILT 68 Z, AND SOME OF THE MANIFOLDS HAVE THE CASTING DATE, ON THE UNDERSIDE, IN CLEAR VIEW BUT SOME HAVE IT UNDER THE SPLASH PAN. ANY RIME OR REASON FOR THIS? 67 OR 68? BTW I'M LOOKING FOR A MARCH 68 DATED MANIFOLD..ANYONE?

Typically, the 610's made in 1967 are in plain sight towards the front. The later versions in 1968 are under the heat shield. That's not 100% correct on everyone but the norm.

They're fairly easy to find on Evil bay. I got a nice one but didn't worry about the date because it's under the heat shield. I had Jerry "re-skin" it.

I agree.... Dates under the heat sheild then buried again once bolted to the engine. Find a nice one, have Jerry do his magic (did mine also and they look new), and bolt that bad boy on.

Thanks All; I'm looking for a March 68 dated intake only because I'm doing a numbers matching rebuild(04A) and I have been watching E-Bay and Craigslist. Any hints what to look out for? Helicoils etc? It seems that there are more 67 manifolds out there than 68's even though more 68's were built than 67's.
