I have a 67 Conv. that was built in Sept 1966. The vin production # is 833. It has a 327 in it and the stamped code on the front of the block passenger side is FO2IS. I cannot find this for any GM 327. Any help would be appreciated.

Having an F for the assembly stamp it is not a 67 engine. Post a picture of the stamp. Also what is the casting number and date of the block. You will find them at the rear of the block where the bell housing bolts on.

IS is the engine code for a 1969 350 with an auto transmission used in 4 door sedans but your missing 2 numbers, there should be another pair of numbers before or after the 02. Engine was assembled at th Flint Engine plant. Whats the casting number of the block?

Thanks, I cleaned off the paint wirh laquer thinner and the only stamp is FO2OIS, I don't see any thing else. Is the casting code on the top or bottom of the block? My full Vin# is 124677L100833.

Jim, you have a 1962, 1963 or 1964 327/250 with Powerglide assembled at the Flint, MI plant on February 1st, and installed in a full size passenger car. Check the casting date to narrow it down to the correct year.
