Title: Aluminum Polishing: first try
Post by: 9T4Z on April 08, 2011, 12:21:15 AM
So I found these old M/T valve covers I wanted to use on my car.... pretty rough shape if you look at the link.

Anyway I'm not much for finesse so just grabbed a 1/4 sheet sander and started with #60 all the way to #400 oxide paper, red compound, white compound and then aluminum polish. Lots of deep scratches left and could have spent way more time with detail compounding but just went for the gusto!
