I was visiting a friend's brother yesterday. He was storing a 69 Camaro for another friend. I wish I had brought a camera.
It was a Fathom Green Big block car, very restored looking, nice.
OK I noticed that it had SuperSport wheels D90 Hockey stripe, so assumed at first it was an early build car. No glasses with me and kinda dark but trim pad noted: X11 and I could make out the date of 06A
The car was Rally Sport equipped, no squirters on the headlights, and the wiper motor was not the kind I see with the solenoid for the squirters. Car had a cowl hood, and heater core was for a big block. Then I noticed the Holly and incorrect intake. Tail panel painted black. 12437N ... other stuff... repop console gauges, am radio, fm antenna... usual easy stuff.
Anyway they told my buddy that it was a 'correct restoration' so I didn't say much other than ... mmmmm nice!
The cowl tag bugged me a bit.... the upper edge was really sharp fold back to the cowl, and very smooth.... OTOH the numbers were very flat and difficult to read. The rivets looked ok with my poor eyes.
My question... so the wheels would be early for the car, which is fine, as I liked them, but the X11 code with the big block RS is that OK?

If it's a big block it should be X22 or X66. X11 is a small block car.

Thank you. I checked the research area, on X codes and that's what I came up with...
I'm not saying anything unless he brings it up with me personally..... no rain on his parade.

i thought some of the copo's were x-11's?

Yes there were some COPO and ZL-1 X-11 cars. I guess I took it for granted he was asking abut standard production cars. Sorry about that. ::)
