Hi
I'm a new member first time ever on any forum. I'm thinking of buyer a 69 camaro not sure what tthe cowl tag is telling me.
line 1 st 69 12437los119538 bdy
line 2 tr 711 76 b
line 3 10a e 080
Thanks for your help

st 69 = 1969
12437 = Camaro coupe
los = Los Angeles(built there)
119538 = unit number at that plant
tr = trim code
711 = black standard interior
76 = Daytona yellow
B = black top
10A = time built code = oct, 1st week
D80 = air spoiler equipment
This is my first time decoding a Camaro on a web site. I'm sure someone with a little more expertise might find a mistake and/or give you more details, but this will get you going. Good Luck!
How did I do guys?

The last code is actually E080, rather than D80. VN cars didnt have X nor D80 codes on the trim tag.
This was an internal plant scheduling code, basically meaningless.

Sprint1004,
Tell us something about the car... what kind of shape is it in..? what's the asking price...? ???
Joe and Dave decoded the tag for you, but if you are really looking for a 69 take a look here :http://www.camaros.org/numbers.shtml#CowlTag
and here: http://www.camaros.org/diffs69.shtml
snd here: http://www.camaros.org/geninfo.shtml
If you are new to this, you want as much info. in hand as you can get when you are out looking!
Good luck! And seriously, share info, about the car... ;D ;D ;D
And whoops! ::) If you share info. beyond the numbers, we really ought to take that to General Discussion.
