The 68 or 69 AIMs do not show a pinch clamp on the radiator neck nipple for the overflow hose. All that is shown is an overflow hose already attached. I've seen black diamond "U" pinch clamps on some cars (not sure if they were original cars). Was there ever a pinch clamp holding the hose to the radiator neck nipple? If so, what color was it? Black, yellow, olive drab, or red?

Here's a pic from a '69...

Marty,
The pinch clamp in your picture has rounded ends vice squared ends. I thought original pinch clamps had a stamped diamond "U" logo and squared ends like the fuel/PCV/booster hose pinch clamps?

That's because they didn't use a clamp on the overflow hose - it just pushes on the nipple.

I concur with John for 68s.
My 68 overflow hose fits snug onto the nipple with no sign of a clamp ever used.

Thanks, JohnZ and Lakeholme. I hope others are helped by this post too.

The overflow hose wasn't under any pressure, so it didn't need a clamp; it was open at the end.
