Title: Soon a New Camaro SS in the Stable
Post by: rich69rs on February 25, 2011, 07:38:33 PM
Although not a 1st Gen addition, just wanted to share that this week I special ordered a 2011 Camaro SS with the 2SS option package, Red Jewel Tintcoat paint, and the following additional options.

Model Description; 1ET37; Camaro 2SS

Option Code

GAQ; Red Jewel Tintcoat Paint
KAE; Hurst Short-Throw Shifter
VQL; Satin Nickel Finish Fuel Door
VRV; Quarter Flares
VYX; Body-Color Painted Engine Cover
Q9J; 20" Polished Aluminum Wheels
VYW; Premium Carpeted Floor Mats
VL1; Cargo Mat

Kind of cool that I can track the progress of the build on line as well.

Congratulations Rich, I've been holding out on a new Camaro for a while.  The new ZL1 is coming, but I'm still waiting on a new Z.  If not a 2SSRS victory red with white stripes might be in the garage in a year or two.

You will love it!

I have a 2010 and it is very satisfying car. Black with cyber gray stripes and the inferno orange/black interior. 6-Speed manual tranny.

Mark, did you get the RS option?    I have a black CTS and it's a bitch to keep clean.  Black is beautiful when it's clean.

I also noticed you over on the C5 site with the same user name.

Hey John,
The RS package cost a grand more and all I would get for it was halo headlights and "SS" emblems in a different color so I did not order the package. There are some subtle differences that might make more sense if you had a different color car but for a black car it just wasn't worth it IMO. It was an early order placed on October 13th 2008 which was the fist day you could place an order.  I am adding a supercharger next.

Good luck with the supercharger.  Just don't let that PQ guy help you install it, but again maybe his wife with help.

Dont look for Chevy to make a Z-28 Camaro. Personally i hope they dont. The 302 engine was speical in 67-69 Z-28 and hate to see it back in a Camaro anytime soon in a turbo charger form.

HA! - If PQ helps it will take weeks so I probably want to do it myself but Bon-Bon can come over and help ANY time. ;)

I look for one to compete with the new Boss 302, and I don't see Chevrolet having a warehouse full of 1st gen. 302's waiting to be installed.
