hi guys,
hope you can help me.
i have a 1968 camaro with 15" x 7" rally wheels and firestone firehawke tyres p215/65r15.
i have been told these wheels and tyres should be fine, but when i hit a dip in the road my front tyres rub / scrape against the wheel arch trim.
i am wondering if the back spacing is incorrect and would like to know what it should be ?
any help would be appreciated.
thanks guys,
rohan

Did they ever have 15x7" Ralleys?
Anyway 4.25" works well. ;)

Yes, 15 x 7 ralleys were on Z's

Not in 68. 15x6 was the largest wheel on a Camaro including the z/28....Joe

I think the tires are a bit tall for the front. Scrapping the wheelwells or just the trim?

hi vt,
thanks to all who have replied.
the tyre definately scrapes the wheel trim, as it gets bent out after i drive it. not sure if it scrubs the wheel well.
also, should there be a gap between the trim ring and the centre on the wheel ?
my wheels have a gap of about 20mm between the trim ring and the the centre of the wheel ?
thanks guys,

Rohan,
I used factory 15 x 7 rallys, 215 60 15 BFG T/A's for years with lower springs and never had a problem. I also mounted 215 65 15 Firestones that were very tall and square that rubbed on every driveway and dip. That gap seems very wide, Make sure the rings are correct. Are they bottoming out? Also check the clip location.

vt,
thanks very much,
trim rings arnt bottoming out.
how do i check / what is the correct clip location ?
so the trim ring should butt up against the centre of the wheel ?
cheers,
rohan
