Hello.
Does anyone know who might re-skin a aluminum distributor housing
to get it back to the original finish after sand blasting?
What might the results be?
Thanks, Mike.

Hi Mike,
Give CRG member Jerry Macneish a call at Camaro High Performance (z28camaro.com). I think he will be able to help you. Jim

I certainly wouldn't sand-blast an aluminum distributor housing; that's way overkill.
-
It could certainly require more attention than re-skinning if it was not "delicately" handled by the sandblaster. The turned OD where the numbers are stamped can be badly pitted by high pressure/and or coarse media.

You do not want to use any kind of pressure blasting on these housings. That's why we use a high tech tumbler. It does not disturb the housing at all and keeps the original patina to the housing.
Here's a sample photo, we also clearance and set up the dist with a shorter curve and lighter spring. This set up is worth HP on the dyno.
