Title: Whats the largest wheel tire combo for 69 Camaro?
Post by: sdkar on May 19, 2006, 03:25:11 AM
Okay...so I'm playing 20 questions.  I am trying to figure out what the largest tire and rim combo for a 69 Camaro Pro tour.  I have stock wheel wells front and rear with 2" dropped spindles in the front.  I am wondering if I should stick with a 17" wheel or can I fit an 18" wheel?  What is the biggest I should go without looking ridiculous.  I just want a tough stance but not oversized.  Should I go larger in the rear or stay the same size all the way round?  What do you guys think?  If anyone has pics of their car with certain size wheels that you think look cool, can you possibly email them to me?

Thanks,

Steve

My car isn't as far along as yours but i might can give you a direction to look at. I usually buy Popular Hot Rodding magizine, and alot of the cars and camaro's in them will tell their rim and tire combo's. Just for example the one i'm looking at now is a 69' camaro and the car is running 17x8's up front and 17x11's out back. 245/45R17's front,315/35R17's rear. Doesn't say anything about having to modify the rear wheel wells, but i do know that the larger the rim the more clearance you have for brakes. Thats my two cents hope it helps, but i know how expensive rims and tires can be.
