Anybody know if this coil bracket with the notch, is specific to 69' Z/28. I was told a long time ago that it is correct for a Z/28.....Danny

There is no bracket that is 'specific to the Z28'... lots of discussion whether that is the correct one for a cowl induction hood which placed the coil at a steeper angle...
There are documented Z28 without the notch... don't know the app for that exactly but I have seen this style and own a spare...

The coil bracket with the "notch" is not unique to the Z/28; originals don't have the notch, although the eBay sellers want you to believe they did, so they can claim they're "rare". The one in the photo is clearly from another application, as it has the screw to attach the radio noise suppresson capacitor, which was never used on a '69 Camaro.

Well thank you all for that. Gotta love the knowledge, fun to absorb it all in. ;D I thought for sure it was to clear something due to the excess angle. Oh well.........Danny

It WAS angled to clear something - that angle of bracket was used with the ZL2 ducted hood option so the top of the coil didn't interfere with the larger-diameter ZL2 air cleaner base (but it didn't have the "notch").
