Title: 837 Alt.
Post by: wisemanz28 on January 25, 2011, 03:23:35 AM
Found a 1969 Alt dated 9H21 for sale, my engine pad is stamped 9H25, is this too close? Should I be looking for something a week before the 25th or two weeks before the 25th? Just not sure and wanted to ask the CRG members, thanks.

The engine assembly date on the stamp pad doesn't enter into it - the alternator was installed at the car assembly plant, not at the engine plant. What matters is the car's final assembly date, as that's when the alternator was installed.

Just out of curiosity, what is it going for these days?
